Does your company offer parking access and/or payment solutions?

Mark Reinart, Manager Marketing Systems and Development, Diebold
Numerous Colleges and Universities use their Diebold CS Gold card system to manage and control campus parking. The flexible access control features of CS Gold tailor nicely to fit the needs of these campuses. Features like anti-pass back, remote notification, weatherized readers, group codes, and time schedules allow for efficient lot control. This application of CS Gold is particularly useful in urban settings where parking lot space is in great demand. Privilege control by groups provides a method to keep student and faculty in their appropriately assigned lots. Several schools have taken this solution one step further by incorporating the stored value features of CS Gold to gain automated collection of payments for parking and special events. Diebold CSVT value terminals can also play a role in pay for parking applications, especially in areas where visitors are allowed access. Having access control and stored value tightly integrated within one enterprise wide system conveniently meets the diverse needs of campuses from small to very large.

Jeff Zander, VP, General Meters Corp.
The General Meters Parking Module is priced based on the number of accounts/cards on the campus.   It supports pass/fail as well as declining balance payments.   And it supports car pool groups and anti pass-back requirements. We have lease, purchase, and lease purchase options … and the system helps pay for itself.

Angelina Lopez, Media Relations, HID
HID Corporation and its partner company NEDAP have developed a long-distance Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) system that allows for instant identification of both vehicle and driver.  This system is uniquely suited to work with existing campus HID Prox cards for parking access and payment. The system utilizes a Combi Booster that is an in-vehicle reader/transmitter device, programmed to read and re-transmit the serial number of a standard HID Prox card. The device will also transmit an embedded serial number of its own; this will be transmitted as a vehicle ID.  The NEDAP reader in turn will receive both ID numbers at distances up to 33 feet at very high speed. Upon receipt, the reader will then output the serial numbers as a standard Wiegand signal to the back-end system for validation. This system benefits the campus allowing utilization of existing cards for access and payment. Security is also enhanced by using the combined Driver and Vehicle ID as a means of gaining access.

Ann E. Johnson, Marketing Manager, Indala
