U.S. Bank partners with Northwestern University

CHICAGO (April 15, 2004) – Northwestern University has chosen U.S. Bank to provide banking services on its campuses. This new relationship includes a variety of U.S. Bank financial products and services for students, faculty and staff. U.S. Bank will open a full- service branch at Northwestern’s Evanston, Ill., campus on July 1, 2004, inside the Norrisse University Center.

U.S. Bank will also operate seven ATMs on that campus, as well as three ATMs on its the Chicago campus. In addition, U.S. Bank will provide the banking functionality for Northwestern’s multi-use identification card, the “WildCard,” including student checking andand workplace banking products and services for faculty and staff. The U.S. Bank ATMs, WildCard services and workplace bankingcampus branch will be available beginning July 1.

We’re glad to extend those services to our campus through this relationship.”

The WildCard provides official identification and a variety of conveniences for more than 25,000 students, faculty and staff. The WildCard, in addition to serving as official campus identification, provides access to campus photocopy machines, student laundry facilities, health services, the pharmacy and computer labs, and is an alternative to cash at beverage and snack machines.

For cardholders who are also U.S. Bank customers, the WildCard will double as their ATM card on and off campus. The campus ATMs will also dispense phone minutes, postage stamps and other banking services in addition to traditional cash deposit and withdrawal functions. U.S. Bank has 84 ATMs in the Chicagoland area, among 4,472 ATMs nationwide. The full-service campus branch will offer the Northwestern students, faculty and staff the ability to conduct banking transactions on their terms.

“As part of our commitment to serving the Northwestern community, we plan onto working with the Norris University Center Advisory Board to identify acceptable, agreeable working operating hours that will cater to students needs,” said Hill.

Northwestern employees who choose to do their banking with U.S. Bank can participate with Workplace Banking, a benefits program which features special membership offers, discounts, and bonuses on a variety of valuable products and services for employees who use direct deposit. This program is free to employees and Northwestern University.Northwestern is one of 23 colleges and universities that have joined with U.S. Bank for a campus banking card program. Others include the University of Minnesota; Marquette University in Milwaukee; San Diego State University; Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington; Iowa State University; Northwest Missouri State University; Xavier University in Cincinnati and the University of Louisville.
