Monsters University issues IDs

Zack Martin   ||   Feb 27, 2013  ||

Students attending Monsters University are being issued ID cards to increase safety and reduce identity fraud, according to the university Web site.

“Beginning this fall, students in need of ID cards will need to complete a request form in person at the Campus Safety Patrol office. The office of Campus Life, the site states, previously handled this process.

“The shift is due to increased student safety efforts and a university-wide effort to eliminate identity fraud. Some students have complained about the hassle but Earl Woodman, Campus Safety Patrol director, insists the results will benefit students. ‘We want to make sure the campus is an environment where all students are safe and ID card authentication is a big part of that process.”

The movie, which opens, June 21, has set up a realistic university site that provides information on everything from the student ID card to classes. Visitors can even look at what the student IDs look like.
