Missouri State University has launched robot delivery, bringing Starship Technologies to its Springfield campus. Starship is providing a fleet of 20 autonomous robots that will deliver food from several campus eateries.
The University of Tennessee is the latest university to deploy delivery robots from Starship Technologies. The university is ending its pilot phase, and will fully launch the robot delivery program next week.
Bridgewater State University was one of the first institutions in the northeast region to deploy autonomous robot delivery from Starship Technologies, offering students and faculty a valuable dining alternative. Now, the university is plotting to expand its fleet of delivery robots following early successes on campus.
Card system vendor TouchNet has developed an extensive network of third-party vendors with its Ready Partner Program, designed to provide TouchNet customers with a catalog of third-party providers that are validated to integrate into TouchNet solutions. Among the ever-growing list of TouchNet Ready Partners is Starship Technologies – the company now renowned for its fleet of autonomous delivery robots. Robot delivery was already proving its viability before the arrival of a global pandemic, but it seems that this service has only grown in importance.
A fleet of 20 Starship delivery robots began processing student orders at Oregon State University this week. The popular autonomous delivery robots are now serving OSU students, faculty and staff with contactless delivery across the university’s sprawling 500-acre campus, and marks the first arrival of Starship to a campus in the state of Oregon.
Arizona State University is the latest institution to turn to robot delivery from Starship, with a fleet of 40 autonomous robots being deployed on the Tempe campus. Assisting in the initiative is ASU’s food-service provider, Aramark, who has partnered with delivery robot provider Starship Technologies to provide the program to higher education institutions.
Georgia Southern University is the first institution in the state to provide Starship robots for food delivery to faculty, staff and students. The initiative will deploy 20 of Starship’s autonomous delivery robots to deliver food from on-campus dining locations to designated pickup locations, and offer students another option for dining on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison recently partnered with Starship Technologies to enable students to place food orders to be delivered by the company’s fleet of autonomous delivery robots. Now, university officials have successfully added the Wiscard, UW-Madison’s student ID card as a form of payment with the service.
The University of Mississippi implemented a new campus dining initiative on campus to start the spring semester, adding Starship Technologies’ delivery robots. Ole Miss has deployed 30 of the autonomous delivery units and is supporting orders for a number of on-campus dining franchises.
