Minnesota State University, Mankato has selected TCF Financial to provide banking services to MavCard ID users. The five year contract will facilitate debit and ATM transactions for for MavCard users and will see the TCF build a branch bank on campus, which is slated to open in 2005.

Minneapolis, MN – May 10, 2004 – Officials from the Minnesota State University, Mankato and TCF Financial Corporation announced that TCF Bank has been awarded the University’s exclusive MavCard contract, replacing current financial partners US Bank and Affinity Credit Union. The five-year contract makes TCF the exclusive provider of banking services tied to campus cards (MavCard) on the Mankato campus.

The agreement allows students, staff and faculty to link a TCF campus checking account to their MavCard ID. The cardholder will then be able to use their MavCard for debit purchases and ATM transactions. Bank officials also announced that TCF would build a branch on campus, with the opening tentatively scheduled for early in 2005. The number of ATMs operated by TCF on the campus will also be expanded.

In conjunction with the new agreement, Jeter announced that TCF would contribute scholarship funds and provide additional dollars for sponsoring on-campus programs and events.

The MavCard serves as the key to a variety of campus services, including access to University facilities, dining services, and library materials. Students, faculty and staff also receive a free campus checking account, free coin counting, and other banking privileges.

TCF has other similar campus relationships, including the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities and Duluth campuses), University of Michigan, Northern Illinois University, St. Cloud State University, Saginaw Valley State University, and Brown College.
