The Beijing Red Cross Foundation has introduced phones equipped with GPS systems to kids in primary and middles schools, enabling parents and teachers to better track their kids, reports China Daily.

The phone is worn around each student’s wrist, resembling a wristwatch, and boasts four buttons which be linked to connect to a parent or guardian. Children can also use the phones to raise the alarm by pressing an SOS button and the phones are able to determine if the children are close to danger, such as rivers, building sites and highways.

The phones do not have the ability to send messages nor do they play games. To get one, parents must show their ID cards, their kids’ student numbers and commit to use the phones for a period of two years.
