The Auburn Public School District in Massachusetts is instituting a new Web-based system designed to enhance communication between parents and teachers, according to The Daily Auburn.
The district’s technology department is deploying the iParent Portal system for Auburn High School and Auburn Middle School. Through the portal, parents will have access to their child’s biographic information, schedule, attendance, grading, testing, and discipline information online.
Any changes or updates to a student’s record will reflect immediately within the portal. Grading information will also be made available to parents in real time as it is entered into teacher grade books.
Officials said the system will provide a secure means through which parents will be able to review their child’s grades, thus being able to monitor his/her progress and provide additional support in their learning.
